The Sanctuary of Wonder is a gentle, body-based therapy space, supporting individuals to reconnect with themselves, understand their Wonder System (the body's nervous system) that responds to safety, stress, connection and emotion, and move from pain, tension, or emotional difficulties into a felt sense of safety, self trust and emotional well-being.
The Sanctuary of Wonder is rooted as a Community Interest Company (CIC), meaning its work is grounded in community, accessibility, and social purpose. Alongside its CIC work, the Sanctuary also offers private offerings, allowing it to reach and support people in a range of ways, both collectively and one to one.
Through body-based (somatic) practices, reflective exercises, gentle energetic support, and our unique Wonder framework, alongside playful guided therapeutic exploration and creative experiences, clients learn to feel safer in themselves, build resilience, and reconnect with a deeper sense of connection, curiosity and wonder.
Who is the Sanctuary of Wonder for?
Our work is for both children and adults who want to feel more connected to themselves, their bodies and the people around them. We support people experiencing stress, overwhelm, emotional or behavioural difficulties, disconnection, life transitions and the impacts of difficult or traumatic experiences, as well as those simply wanting to understand themselves more deeply and grow.
The Sanctuary of Wonder Audio Library is a growing collection of gentle audio practices created to guide humans, big and small, into safety, trust and wonder. Created as part of our wider mission to support both our CIC community and the wider community, these resources offer moments of calm, connection, imagination and reflection. Let the wonder unfold...
The Sanctuary of Wonder is so much more than it first appears. Step inside and you'll discover a whole world to explore, a lovingly crafted map of spaces and corners, each with its own unique magic, from original stories and digital creations to guided journeys, courses, programmes and nurturing well-being practices. There's always something waiting to be found. Come in, take a look around and see where the wonder leads you
I offer 1:1 sessions for humans big and small, gently guiding adults and children back to themselves through body awareness, nervous system safety, inner child connection, and subtle energy work. This is gentle, therapeutic-style wellbeing support, not clinical therapy, and never about fixing or rushing change. Just a safe, grounded space to come back to the wonder that's already within.
I’m Sam, and I created The Sanctuary of Wonder from a deep belief that when we feel safe, supported and understood, we naturally begin to grow.
My work focuses on supporting what I call the Wonder System, the body’s nervous system, which responds to safety, stress, connection and emotion. At The Sanctuary of Wonder, I use this gentler language because it helps make these ideas more accessible, less clinical, and easier for both adults and children to understand and relate to.
When the Wonder System feels overwhelmed, we can experience anxiety, shutdown, overthinking or disconnection. When it feels supported, we begin to feel calmer, clearer and more ourselves.
The Sanctuary of Wonder offers a gentle, body-based and energetically aware approach to well-being through reflection, body-based practices, subtle energy work, connection, and playful therapeutic exploration. Guided by the Sanctuary of Wonder’s unique Wonder framework, individuals are supported to slow down, understand themselves, and grow in a safe and compassionate way.
I guide individuals, children, families and communities into greater safety, trust and emotional well-being, and back toward the wonder that already exists within them.
My work is shaped by over a decade of experience in well-being, social care, safeguarding, and embodied practice. I weave together training in:
Trauma-informed practice
Neurobiology of Trauma
Somatic & nervous system regulation
Inner child and shadow work
Children’s emotional development
Somatic Attachment
Somatic Psychology
Creative and story-based healing
Energy and consciousness modalities
Yoga, mind–body awareness & breathwork
I hold a BA (Hons) in Business & Legal Studies, an MSc in Environmental Health, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Social Work, a foundation that has shaped my understanding of systems, community well-being, and the importance of safe, supportive environments for people to thrive in.
Across all of my therapeutic work, I blend evidence-informed approaches with creativity, intuition, and gentle relational guidance, supporting both the child and the child within every adult.
